Readings & Recommendations
On this page, you'll find a regularly updated list of my past (in no specific order), present and planned readings, with a little sentence from me about what I thought of them and who I would recommend them to. I hope it can make you want to dive in! 😊
I read most of my books in English, but I also link to the French version when it exists. I also listen to some books in Audio Book on Audible (1st book 100% free!).
I talk about my own reading habits (when, what, why...) in the 2nd half of this podcast episode.
Current Reading
Chris Voss - Never Split the Difference
I'm in the first third of the book, and already a lot of small victories and "techniques" that can be applied immediately in our daily negotiations. I've even dutifully taken notes on several pages, can't wait to finish! :)
Completed & Recommended Reading
Sport & Nutrition
Steven Low - Overcoming Gravity
The Bible of bodyweight training and gymnastics, excellent to know more about all aspects of training (exercises, programming, injuries, etc...).
Julien Venesson - Nutrition de la Force
I don't know them all, but it's certainly one of the best French books on bodybuilding nutrition, highly recommended for beginners.
Kelly Starrett - Becoming a Supple Leopard / Version Française
The Bible of mobility and flexibility, whether it is to understand and treat everyday pains or to soften up for your sport, I recommend.
Paul Wade - Convict Conditioning 1 / L'Entraînement d'un détenu 1
Among the very first bodyweight training books that I read, I really loved them! The 1st book talks about basic to intermediate movements (push-ups, pull-ups, squats, bridge, hspu), the 2nd book (French version) attacks other body parts and figures, like the Flag or the neck workout, and the 3rd book (French version) tackles a lot of explosive moves, like the Muscle Up, Backflip, Kip Up. I recommend it to beginners & street workout enthusiasts!
Personal Development
Cal Newport - Deep Work / Version Française
Greg McKeown - Essentialism / L'Essentialisme
Robert Cialdini - Influence, the psychology of persuasion / Influence et Manipulation
Dale Carnegie - How to Win Friends and Influence People / Comment se Faire des Amis
Grant Cardone - Be Obsessed or Be Average / Quand obsession rime avec passion
Mark Manson - The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck / L'Art Subtil de s'en F*utre
Steven Pressfield - The War of Art
Gary Keller - The One Thing / Version Française
Jordan B. Peterson - 12 Rules for Life / 12 règles pour une vie
Robert Greene - Mastery / Atteindre l'Excellence
Eckart Tolle - The Power of Now / Le Pouvoir du Moment Présent
Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Content Creation
Tim Ferriss - The 4-Hour Work Week / La semaine de 4 heures
A classic on internet entrepreneurship and the automation that is made possible for many things. A must read if you hesitate to start your own business, it also puts in place the fears that prevent you from taking the first step :)
Stan Leloup - Your Empire In A Backpack
Marketing Youtuber that I really appreciate, as well as his podcast(Marketing Mania), who lays down in this book the psychological foundations to be understood as well as the first important steps to launch his business on the internet successfully.
Michael E. Gerber - The E-Myth Revisited / Version Française
This book is really excellent for anyone who wants to start an entrepreneurial business, especially in selling goods and services, as it provides a clear structure to follow as well as the right mindset to adopt.
Gary Vaynerchuk - Crushing It / Cassez la baraquez
How anyone, from a plumber to an influencer, can (and should?) use social media for their business. As someone who really likes Gary, his way of thinking and his content on YouTube in general, I really liked this book, which obviously targeted me well at first ;)
Gary Vaynerchuk - Jab Jab Jab, Right Hook
Still in the vein of success on social networks (and by extension in my opinion : In life in general), this book rightly hammers home an extremely important point that resonates with me a lot: you have to give, give, and give some more before you even think about asking, or someone wants to spontaneously give it back.
Gary Vaynerchuk - #AskGaryVee
A Best-Of Q&A with Gary Vee about leadership, entrepreneurship, social networks and more.
Seth Godin - This Is Marketing
A guide to the difference between bad marketing (intrusive advertising and spam) and good marketing, based on trust and permission. Excellent reading that I highly recommend to anyone who has any kind of project :)
I also listen assiduously and recommend Seth Godin's podcast: "Akimbo"
SethGodin - The Dip / Le Dip
A quick read and very interesting about the "dip" period, that is to say the moment when, after the initial excitement, we find ourselves in the hard part of our brand new project, and we wonder whether we should redouble our efforts or give up.
Seth Godin - Purple Cow
A book full of interesting tips on how to make yourself impossible to miss, which is increasingly essential when trying to launch a new project these days.
Pat Flynn - Superfans
An interesting book for content creators, businesses and anyone who has an audience or sells anything. It shows effective strategies to create a stronger and stronger relationship with certain people in our community.
On my list for the next step
Books that I already own and that are thus ready to be read, without knowing yet in which order :)
Steven Low - Overcoming Poor Posture & Overcoming Tendonitis
I'm going to tackle these books very soon to better understand and tame poor posture and "tendonitis", in order to be able to better implement this in myself as well as in my advice to others:)
Victor Ferry - 12 Lessons in Rhetoric to take power
This Youtuber passionate about rhetoric has clearly made me want to work on my message delivery with his great videos (and support him at the same time).
Scott Harrison - Thirst
A book about the author's chaotic life journey until he ended up founding one of the largest and most respected charities, Charity: water, an organization I've personally supported for a long time that aims to provide clean water to those in need. Can't wait to read it.
Yuval Noah Harari - Sapiens / Version Française
A popularly acclaimed book as being very suitable for those looking for an easy first read to learn more about human history.
Robert Cialdini - Pre-suasion / Pré-suasion
After his brilliant book Influence, we are treated to a second volume that looks at the preliminary stages of influence. Seemingly clearly below the first book, it still seems to have some new nuggets.
SethGodin - The Practice
His latest book about content creation and how and why to cultivate regular and sustained creation rather than being too perfectionist and thus never good enough to share with the world.
